Ruby Developer

Nedap
Full-time
On-site
Nevada, United States
“Technology for Life" is what we believe in. We look for meaningful connections between people and our software solutions. Our Caren solution is built for clients and their loved ones so they can collaborate with healthcare professionals.

As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will work on improving the Caren solution. Our goal is to enable clients, their relatives, and healthcare organizations to collaborate closely and thereby improve clients' health. Additionally, we aim to enhance care processes by encouraging healthcare organizations to be as transparent as possible and to offer all available medical information to clients and their networks.

Together with another team member, you will focus specifically on the general practitioners' market. This includes improving communication between patients and GPs, scheduling appointments, or requesting repeat prescriptions. We encourage you to take the initiative in these areas.

You will work on both front-end and back-end projects in a new codebase.

 Your responsibilities
  • You contribute to functionalities that make a societal impact, specifically targeting the general practitioners' market;
  • You ensure that the solutions you implement are future-proof;
  • Through clear communication, you actively contribute to how we work together as a team.
 Your team
This position is part of the Caren team, which includes both Developers and Support Specialists. Together, they are responsible for providing the best possible experience for users. The team values everyone's opinions, encourages feedback, and appreciates constructive exchanges of ideas. Despite being part of a larger group, they strive for a more agile, startup-like mentality within the team. They work quickly, steadily, and incrementally.

Some might call them a bit headstrong, but they have strong principles and clear opinions on how they want to get things done. The team enjoys getting to know the person behind the colleague. Together, you will shape the future of the Caren product. Team Caren builds its own development roadmap and makes its own plans for the future. They take pride in creating the best, most stable, and fastest application on the market.

 Our offer
As a Ruby on Rails Developer at Nedap, you will make a valuable contribution to our goal: making people happier and more successful in their professional lives. In addition to your salary, you are entitled to a thirteenth month, a good pension scheme, and profit sharing with the opportunity to become a shareholder of Nedap. At Nedap, everything revolves around trust and autonomy. You determine your own working hours and vacation days. We also highly value personal and professional growth. You will receive a comprehensive introduction, and we encourage you to continuously develop yourself.

 Required experience and skills
You are involved and not afraid to innovate and collaborate to find the best solution. You are precise and love continuous learning. Therefore, specific education is less important to us. We build on the Ruby on Rails 7 foundation using Turbo and Stimulus. We prefer to build a so-called large monolith, utilizing HTML over the wire and web-sockets. Do you also recognize yourself in the following?
  • You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in full-stack Ruby on Rails development;
  • You have experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL;
  • Experience with Rails 7 and Hotwire is a plus;
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
  • You feel comfortable in an environment with many uncertainties (startup mentality);
  • You have a “I've never tried that before, so I think I definitely can” mentality.
